On 17th February 1999, Pakistan was playing against India at the World's Largest Cricket Stadium at Kolkata. People were lauding and were welcoming one of the greatest batsman in the history of Cricket. Stadium was Full of more than 1,00,000 spectators who were shouting Sachin, Sachin. Sachin Tendulkar, the most experienced batsman had to face a young and inexperienced bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
Shoaib Akhar who just started his career faced Sachin Tendulkar in the finest manner. He bowled out Rahul Dravid who was famous as a "Wall" for the Indian Team due to his mastery of taking the team out of crises after the dismissal of Opening Pair. But the crowd didn’t stop shouting and started welcoming Sachin Tendulkar.
The crowd was continuously shouting in favor of the home team. Shoaib Akhtar also once got nervous but soon controlled his nerves. While talking about the those moment, Shoaib Akhtar said that we were not playing against 11 players but 1,00,000 +11 people. On the other hand, Sachin Tendular was completely ready for the incoming delivery. But, he was unaware that he was going to face the most interesting delivery in the history of Cricket. After a long run-up Shoaib Akhtar came to ball, the ball at Yorker length went through the bat and pads and destroyed the middle stump and soon the greatest batsman of time was no more on crease.

In seconds, there was a pin-drop silence in the stadium. The crowd was shocked. Only 11 Pakistani players were shouting and celebrating their best moment. Everyone in the stadium could hear them. This was the moment when Pakistani Team made comeback in the match. Earlier Pakistani Team on day 1 had lost 6 wickets for just 26 runs but after this moment they finished the game by wining it by 46 runs.
Shoaib Akhtar’s this delivery was perhaps the most famous delivery by any of Pakistani bowler who given him the heights of fame and success. Shoaib who few months ago travelled from Rawalpindi to Lahore on the roof of a bus (because he didn’t had money to pay the fare) and who slept on Footpath at Lahore, soon became so famous that after few months in 1999 World cup Tony Greigh said “It is not an expensive deal to travel from one corner of World to London to see this bowler”
Shoaib Akhtar started his biography “Controversially yours” with the discussion on the same delivery.
